ABhiyantriki

Technology is at its best when it tests the young engineers and Abhiyantriki 07, the annual technical festival of K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering Vidyavihar, aptly exemplified this notion. Held on 20^th October in the college premises, this inter college tech fest witnessed a great response with 35 engineering colleges participating. It served as a platform for students to showcase their talents in the different sections. Open for public viewing, Abhiyantriki witnessed a huge crowd which included both technical & non-technical people.

The festival had as much as 19 events in all. The highlight of every technical festival, Robotics, received a huge participation as always. The festival also comprised of various workshops ranging from Engine Workshop to Aeromodelling and Aquabotics Workshop, technical paper presentations, technical debates and quizzes. Events such as Water Rocketics, Junkyard Wars and Drag Race analyzed the creative skills while the Technical Treasure Hunt and Simulator Car were an impressive fusion of technology and fun. Students as well as faculty members participated in technical exhibition to present latest technologies as well as innovative designs.

The major attraction of the day was the Solar Car made in Germany by Mr.Louis Palmer which was on display to create awareness about global warming and alternate fuel sources.

BARRACUDA 600, the car made by the students of the college to participate in FORMULA STUDENTS CHAMPIONSHIP GERMANY was also open for viewing.

Students participated in every event with equal interest and curiosity.

Abhiyantriki was in association with BIG FM as radio partners. Bharat Petroleum, ICICI Bank & many other sponsors contributed to the huge success.

Festivals provide a recreation to students from the daily study routine. Nevertheless the efforts that go into making the event a success are equally enjoyable. Truly, there could not have been a better way to celebrate the 25^th Academic year of the college. ‘Abhiyantriki’ literally was a day of ‘Engineering’.

Silver Jubilee for KJSCE

K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering was established in the year 1983. This Academic year is our silver jubilee year. It is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The college is approved by A.I.C.T.E and has been awarded “A” grade by Government of Maharashtra in 1997 and again in 2003. This was one of the very few Engineering Colleges of Maharashtra to get all the courses Accredited as early as 1998.

Meet the Council 07~ 08

Another year passes by as time moves in its own ceaseless rhythm. Once again Somaiya stood to its tradition of delivering fabulous academics and remarkable placements. Somaiya had seen a variety of events and the Grand festival of Symphony 06~07. We thank Students Council 06-07 for their immense efforts and dedication which made it happen. And we welcome the new academic year and are ready to deliver our best to the post to which we are appointed.
